Director of PSHE: Miss H Mainwaring
The PHSE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) & RSHE (Relationships, Sex and Health Education) Curriculum, guided by the Gospel values, provides practical advice and experiences that enable pupils to become happy and successful individuals who can make a positive contribution to society. By focusing on the three key areas of ‘Health and Well-Being’, ‘Living in the Wider world’ and ‘Relationships’, we equip our pupils with the skills and knowledge they will need to meet the challenges of our diverse and increasingly complex world. We aim to help our pupils’ make safe and informed decisions regarding the world around them.
Year 7-11 pupils engage with PHSE along with Citizenship and the Careers Curriculum predominantly in their Form time and through the wider School Curriculum. We ensure that all pupils learn about these important topics in a supportive learning environment. We also teach PHSE across the curriculum so that pupils can make connections and links between PHSE and the examined curriculum subjects they study.
