Christ is at the centre of everything we do at St Patrick’s, as we strive to fulfil the mission of ‘true education’ as outlined by the Catholic Church above.

The work and study of all members of our community are underpinned by gospel values, the teachings and example of Jesus in the hope that we can be the Body of Christ and People of God in 21st century Britain.

We are a welcoming, vibrant and dynamic school. A wide range of individual, God-given talents can be discovered through our ambitious and aspirational curriculum offer, as well as our enriching and diverse Personal Development programme. We recognise that every child and adult who belongs to the St Patrick’s family (students, parents/carers, staff and governors) have been created in God’s image and likeness and, as such, their lives are a sacred gift that deserve to be nurtured and enhanced.

The most important principle that underpins our culture and climate at St Patrick’s can be articulated in one simple word – Respect. Respect for others, respect for ourselves and respect for our environment. We joyfully witness acts of kindness, compassion and generosity as part of our daily lives as members of our community strive to serve one another. This enables us to bear witness to a truly inclusive environment, where all are welcome and diversity is celebrated.

The Catholic Life and Mission of our school is continuously developed through:

• The completion of our CPD programme for all staff – ‘Catholic Education and Formation’.
• The work of our dedicated staff Ethos Committee.
• The work of our committed Faith in Action pupils and Year 11 Senior Prefects.
• Collaborations with our partner primary schools and the wider parish community.
• The work of our governors.

As a Catholic school, we are proud to love God through frequently embracing a variety of opportunities for prayer and liturgy. We are also steadfast in our commitment to loving our neighbours, both locally and globally, through living out Catholic Social Teaching.

However, our distinctive Catholic identity runs far deeper than such explicit acts of faith. At St Patrick’s, you can feel our ethos being lived and breathed implicitly through our every day actions and interactions: The positive relationships teachers and pupils share, the way we speak to and treat one another, the commitment of staff to help every child become the very best version of themselves, the academically distinguished nature of our curriculum and our dedication to high-quality teaching and learning.

We are delighted to hold a longstanding, strong reputation within Salford Diocese and Local Authority as a Centre of Educational Excellence, where attendance and outcomes are consistently excellent. We firmly believe that the Catholic Life and Mission of our school is the heart and foundation of our continued success, as it defines all that we are and drives all that we do.

Year 8 Retreat – Castlerigg Manor – 15th December 2025

Our Year 8 pupils enjoyed another memorable retreat to Castlerigg. Set against the beautiful landscape of the Lake District, the retreat gave students valuable time to step away from everyday school life and reflect on their faith and friendships.

Anchor Jubilee – 5th December 2025

Now the jubilee year has come to a close, we reflect on the impact this has had on pupils and staff at St Patrick’s. We have learnt what it means to be ‘Pilgrims of Hope’ through assemblies, the curriculum, and events with our partner primary schools and wider parish. A highlight for us was receiving the Diocesan Anchor from St Gilbert’s RC Primary School!

Interfaith Panel – 14th November 2025

During Interfaith Week in November, we warmly welcomed Rabbi Ephraim Guttentag, Imam Abu Hafs and his associate Mohammed Faheem, and Fr Robert Dykes to our interfaith panel with Year 10. Religious Leaders answers pupils’ questions about their respective beliefs about God, the significance of their scriptures and the importance of interfaith dialogue.

Inspired by the great example of the saints and the Solemnity of All Saints, our students spent some time today at our “pop-up Chaplaincy” event reflecting on how we can become saints and the gifts God has given us✝️💛🙏
