Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)
We aim to give each and every pupil here at St. Patrick’s relevant, informative and tailor-made careers advice and guidance (CIAG) from internal staff, our personal Careers Connect advisor and a huge array of external agencies. The impact of our careers provision here can be seen in our extremely low NEET figures (pupils Not in Employment, Education or Training once they leave here) which are viewable under ‘Latest Destination Figures’ within the Parents tab. Careers is something which is covered whole-school; within subject lessons, during form time or in trips or evening events. If you would like any more information, please feel free to contact Miss Mainwaring (mainwaring.h@stpatricksrchigh.co.uk) for more information.

Baker Clause – Provider Access Statement
What is a Baker Clause?
The Baker Clause is a legal requirement in England that ensures secondary school students have access to information about technical education and apprenticeship opportunities, not just traditional academic routes like A-levels or university.
In accordance with the Technical and Further Education Act 2017 (the Baker Clause), all secondary schools ensures that all students in Years 8 to 13 have access to information about technical education routes and apprenticeships, alongside traditional academic pathways. At St Patrick’s RC High School year groups in 8-11 have access to this required information.
We are committed to providing pupils with balanced, high-quality careers guidance so that they can make informed choices about their future, whether that be apprenticeships, T-Levels, vocational qualifications, further education, or employment.

Careers Resources and Links
At St Patrick’s RC High School, we believe it is vital to support all pupils in discovering their own path in life – whether that be through further education, apprenticeships, employment, or vocational training. Every young person is unique, with their own gifts, talents, and aspirations, and helping them navigate their next steps allows them to make informed choices that reflect their God-given potential.
This commitment doesn’t end at graduation. We continue to celebrate and support our alumni, recognising that the journey after school can be challenging and full of opportunities. By keeping in touch and sharing guidance, we inspire future generations and build a network of faith-filled role models who demonstrate that every path can be meaningful and fulfilling.
Ultimately, guiding pupils and alumni is about more than careers — it is about nurturing confident, compassionate, and responsible young people who can flourish in life and contribute positively to society, living out the values we hold as a Catholic school community.
