The St Patrick’s Way Programme

Celebrating Faith, Service, and Personal Development

At St Patrick’s RC High School, we are proud to offer The St Patrick’s Way Programme — a unique journey that recognises and rewards pupils for their personal development, service, and commitment to our school community.

The St Patrick’s Way

Rooted in our Catholic faith, the programme helps pupils grow as individuals, developing confidence, leadership, and resilience while living out our core values of Truth, Love, Faith, Service, and Resilience. It invites every young person to strengthen their sense of belonging, kindness, and purpose — both inside and outside the classroom.

Years 7–10 – Growing in Faith, Service, and Community

For pupils in Years 7–10, The St Patrick’s Way focuses on helping them grow as individuals within our school and parish community.
Throughout the year, pupils take part in challenges that encourage them to live out our Catholic values, building their faith, confidence, and character along the way.

Their journey is divided into three key areas:

  • Essentials – Encouraging pupils to develop good habits through excellent attendance, effort and engagement in their learning.
  • Contribute – Inspiring active participation in the spiritual and communal life of the school, such as joining clubs, leading prayer, and supporting charity initiatives.
  • Serve – Promoting service and leadership by taking part in volunteering, representing the school, or helping others within the community.

As pupils progress, they can achieve Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards, with the highest recognition — The Best of All Award — presented to those who complete every element of the programme.

This stage celebrates the growth of our young people as they learn to take responsibility, show compassion, and serve their community with joy and purpose.

Year 11 – St Patrick’s Way and Beyond

In Year 11, pupils move onto St Patrick’s Way and Beyond — a programme designed to help them reflect on their journey, celebrate their achievements, and prepare for life after St Patrick’s.

This version of the programme supports pupils in developing the maturity, faith, and resilience needed for their next steps in education, training, or work. It continues the same three themes, but with a focus on readiness for adult life:

  • Essentials (Prepare to Leave School) – Focusing on attendance, effort, and self-discipline, including revision planning and academic preparation.
  • Contribute (Support and Engage) – Encouraging involvement in careers events, mock interviews, and leadership roles that prepare pupils for the future.
  • Serve (Demonstrate Leadership and Responsibility) – Promoting responsibility through volunteering, mentoring, representing the school, or leading community projects.

By completing St Patrick’s Way and Beyond, our Year 11 pupils demonstrate that they are not only academically prepared, but also spiritually and personally ready to take their place in the world — as confident, compassionate, and faith-filled young adults.

Forming Faith-Filled, Confident Young People

The St Patrick’s Way Programme celebrates not only what our pupils do, but who they are becoming — young people who live out the Gospel values in their everyday words, choices, and actions.
It embodies our belief that personal development is at the heart of Catholic education: nurturing the whole person to grow in faith, character, and purpose.

Together — pupils, families, and staff — we walk The St Patrick’s Way, growing in confidence, kindness, and faith, and continuing the mission of St Patrick through service, prayer, and community.
