Mrs Parker, our Learning Resource Centre Manager, delivers a Library Induction lesson to each Year 7 group during their first half term at St Patrick’s.
Pupils are shown how to find books to read for pleasure, and books to help with schoolwork and homework. Through fun activities, they are introduced to the Dewey decimal system, preparing them to use college and university libraries as well as all our public libraries.
By the end of the session, pupils are able to locate books on any topic chosen at random, and feel confident about using this important school resource.
