The St Patrick’s Way Programme

What is it?

Here at St Patrick’s we believe that all students have an entitlement to Personal Development that prepares young people for the world in which we live today; providing opportunities, which contribute towards developing strength of mind and strength of character. It is our duty to help prepare students for the world around them and for life beyond the school gates.

We value character just as much as academic results.

What does this look like for pupils?

The St Patrick’s Way Programme provides our young people with an opportunity to develop their God-Given talents and interests. It allows pupils to be recognised for the contributions they make to God’s world and our school community.  It is also a chance for them to develop new skills by taking part in things that might push them out of their comfort zone. It provides incredible opportunities for pupils to be rewarded by staff but also celebrate each other.

The St Patrick’s Way Programme is led by pupils themselves but monitored during Form Time. The booklet consists a large number of activities linked to our core values of ‘Truth’, ‘Love’, ‘Faith’, ‘Service’, and ‘Resilience’. Pupils can actively carry out these activities and in-doing so are promoting and practising our Catholic Values. The booklet also has a reflection section where pupils can set themselves targets.

How is it rewarded?

To gain the Service 1 Badge, pupils must complete at least 35 activities from the list.

To gain the Service 2 Badge, pupils must complete at least 45 activities from the list.

To gain the Service 3 Badge, pupils must complete at least 60 activities from the list.

Each half term, Form Tutors will carry out a ‘Half Termly Check-in’ of the St Patrick’s Way. Pupils have an opportunity to post their successes and achievements on the Form Google Classroom to celebrate each other!
