Our Student Leadership programme offers pupils the opportunity to take an active role in serving our St Patrick’s and the community, in line with our value of ‘Service.’
It aims to improve pupils’ confidence and enhance their leadership skills, encouraging them to be positive, inspiring role models for all. All members of the Student Leadership Team are encouraged to make positive enhancements to our school, serve our younger pupils and aim to create a sense of belonging and community for all.

Student Senior Leadership Team
The Student Senior Leadership Team consists of Key Stage 4 pupils who serve our St Patrick’s community and aim to strengthen our school for the better. More information regarding the application process for this can be found below.
School Council Representatives
Our School Council Representatives aim to contribute positively to our committees listed below. Being part of the School Council gives students a chance to express themselves and offer their voice, enabling them to have an impact on our school community. The Head Boy and Head Girl lead our School Council meetings as Chair and Secretary and are supported by their Deputies.
Form Captains
The role of a Form Captain is one of pride and responsibility. Form Captains will carry out duties within form time and will be responsible for collating information from their form during pupil voice surveys, which will then be brought to Student Council. They will also pay an important role in leading their form to contribute to the wider life of school and contribute creative ideas on how we can enhance our St Patrick’s community.
Sports Leaders
Sports Leaders at St Patrick’s play a pivotal role in enhancing Physical Stewardship. They will support all pupils both mentally and physically in a journey of fitness, encouraging all to participate in sporting activities and develop talents given to us by God. Sports Leaders have a moral duty to encourage all, no matter their sporting abilities, promoting our Catholic Values of ‘Resilience’, ‘Love’ and ‘Truth’.
Peer Mentoring
Our Peer Mentoring Programme consists of Year 10 who provide support to younger pupils in school. Our Peer Mentors support pupils in Years 7-9, help pupils with their transition to High School, help them to problem solve, foster positive relationships, be a familiar face and help pupils to reach their full potential in school and outside of school. Peer Mentors will liaise with staff in supporting their mentees and have regular weekly meetings with them.
Pupil Chaplains
Our Pupil Chaplains are commissioned as strong leaders of faith, anchored by Christ to support the spiritual, moral and social development of our St Patrick’s community by leading prayer and collective worship. They work alongside our School Chaplain, members of staff, the Faith in Action Group and Father Martin to support and enhance the Catholic Life of our school.
Student Senior Leadership Team
All pupils at St Patrick’s are taught leadership skills but those who wish to be a part of the Senior Student Leadership Team endure an application process for these positions and are appointed by staff at St Patrick’s- mirroring that of the world of work. These opportunities aim to prepare young people for the world of work and to support them in contributing positivity to God’s world. Pupils in Year 10 will be expected to support the leadership of the committees in preparation for their applications as members of the Senior Leadership Team.
Our Student Leadership Team consists of Two Head Pupils, Four Deputy Head Pupils and Senior Prefects and Prefects. The Senior Leadership Team are responsible for leading our school committees. Upon applying for any above roles, all pupils endure an application/interview process, requiring them to demonstrate how they have already contributed to the wider school community and propose an action plan of how they will continue to serve the school community.

‘Resilience In Action’
A committee responsible for promoting positive mental health and well-being, mirroring the Church’s position on mental health is one of tender mercy and compassion. Giving well-being and Mental Health importance and meaning. Teaching all to have the resilience to embrace changes, appreciate life’s journeys and to have an attitude of gratitude and forgiveness.
‘Care For Creation’
A committee responsible for promoting care for the environment. Promoting our duty of caring for, cultivating, protecting and preserving God’s land.
Encouraging all in the aim of serving & educating at St Patrick’s about God’s land and beyond the school gates.
‘Faith In Action’
A committee responsible enhancing the spiritual life of St Patrick’s. Contributing positively to the school and wider community. Visibly and tangibly embodying what it means to be a Catholic and guiding our younger pupils on their journey of faith.
‘Dignity For All ’
A committee responsible promoting our duty of caring for each other, a sense of belonging and togetherness. Teaching all that each of us is made in God’s image and dignity is about appreciating and celebrating unique and individual differences.
‘Physical Stewardship’
A committee responsible for promoting health and well-being, resilience and personal growth. Actively involving all pupils in the service of sport. Educating all on protecting the body and mind that has been given to us by God.
