Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) operate a number of school bus services that support pupil transport to St Patrick’s RC High School; these include the Yellow School Bus Service.

Which school buses will get me here?
The following official school buses cover St Patrick's RC High School:
Service 909 – between Lower Irlam, The Ship and School will run via Fairhills Road and Cadishead Way; will be retimed to improve punctuality and renumbered to 995. The section between Lower Irlam and Irlam will be replaced by new service 996 with pick up times being up to 23 minutes earlier than now to improve punctuality. An additional late bus will be provided on this service at 1610 to allow students to access after school activities.
Service 910 - between Irlam and School will run direct from Cutnook Lane, will be retimed to improve punctuality, and renumbered to 997. The section between Lower Irlam and Irlam will be replaced by new service 996 with pick up times being up to 23 minutes earlier than now to improve punctuality.
Service Y49 – This service will be retimed to run up to 6 minute earlier to improve punctuality and renumbered to 998. It will be run by Tyrers instead of Go Goodwins.
Service Y81 – This service will be retimed to run up to 11 minutes earlier to improve punctuality and renumbered to 999. It will be run by Tyrers instead of Stagecoach.

How much is the school bus fare?
For children aged 11-16 with igo cards:
Single ticket - £1.40.
Return ticket - £2.40*
TfGM schools weekly ticket - £7.60*
Carnet ticket (10 single trips) £10*
* only valid on schooldays and on dedicated school buses
For children aged 11-16 who don’t have an igo card:
Single ticket - £1.80
Return/Weekly/Carnet ticket - unable to buy return, weekly or carnet tickets.
All children and young people who live or attend school in Greater Manchester are entitled to travel for a child’s concessionary fare on the area’s buses, trains and trams if they are the holder of an igo pass. Children who travel by bus, including Yellow School Buses, are required to have igo cards from the age of 11 to 16 (the card expires on 31 August after the child’s 16th birthday) to enable them to travel for the current concessionary fare, which is half fare. Bus Operators may charge a higher fare if children do not have an igo pass.
Who qualifies for an igo card?
To qualify for an igo card you must be:
- aged between 5 and 16
- be a permanent resident of, or go to school in, Greater Manchester
Costs and benefits:
An igo card costs £10 and lasts until 31 August after your 16th birthday.
