Year 7

Pupils study Biology: Cells, Body systems and Reproduction, Chemistry: Particles, Reactions, Acids and Alkalis, Physics: Forces, Sound, Light, Space.

Pupils gain additional support by learning examination strategy, practice of extended answer questions, and small class groups

Pupil Premium and Special Educational Needs students are given teaching assistant support, focus for marking, extra time if granted in examinations and support with revision guides.

Extra-curricular activities in Science include: school trips, Science speakers, Science club.

Year 11

OCR examinations are held this year. Science can be taken as Combined Science or Triple Science. For Combined Science will be four 1 hour 45 minute examinations and Triple Science there will be six 1 hour 45 minute examinations. Topics studied in year 9 and 10 are revisited in preparation for the examinations.
