Our teachers provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities and parents are asked to encourage children to take part in the life of the school and to support after-school activities. It is an honour to be selected to represent the school and pupils are expected to make themselves available, after school hours, when selected.
In recent years teachers have arranged many activities including: choir, orchestra, theatre visits, library, Chess Club, a school production, Mathematics/Computer Club, Science Club, Art Club, netball, cross-country, running, hockey, badminton, tennis, volleyball, rounders, swimming, athletics, football, cricket, retreats, holidays abroad (France, Austria, Italy, New York), quizzes and competitions for letter writing, Science,Technology, Art, Business Studies and Mathematics.
Our school has a tradition of taking part in inter-school competitive sports, inter-form and individual competitions and our trophy cabinet is an indication of our success.
P.E. and Games are compulsory for all pupils and our specialist Physical Education Teachers work with several coaches both at school and at various sports centres. Many pupils achieve great success in competitions and sporting activities but we recognise that all children should have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities and that sport should be both challenging and enjoyable.
