Salford Children’s Book Award 2017

The winner of the Salford Children’s Book Award 2017 is Katherine Rundell for her book Wolf Wilder.

Ten members of Book Club, the LRC reading group, represented St Patrick’s at the prestigious award ceremony at the Lowry.

During the ceremony, which was led by author James Campbell, pupils from several Salford schools gave presentations about the short-listed books. Zack Blair and Eve Goodwin braved the platform for our school, talking about The Mystery of the Clockwork Sparrow by Katherine Woodfine.

Katherine, who was one of the authors present at the ceremony, was thrilled with the presentation, tweeting later about how much she had enjoyed the event. Our pupils enjoyed meeting the authors, getting their books signed and hearing them speak about their writing.

Book Club is open to pupils in Years 7-9, new members are welcome. Please see Mrs Parker for further information.
