News - Dangers of Social Media Poem
The Warning
By Amy Kenny
I was 11, social media was everything I wanted,
I opened up, told the world my story,
I took pictures and I pouted,
I felt lots of praise and glory.
I was 14, my story was accessible to all,
I found a friend, we talked every day,
We shared pictures, I thought he would call,
We agreed to meet, I didn’t know I would pay.
I was 14, I went to meet the guy,
He was also 14, or so I thought,
I was so excited, but my oh my,
He wasn’t what I had thought.
I was 14, he was about 50,
He had some friends, they were mad,
I didn’t like it, he didn’t care,
I wanted to go home, I was so sad.
I managed to escape, I ran away,
I am not going to be stupid again,
The police came, and took them away,
I’m free to live my life again.
