Some of our Music pupils have recently been getting inspiration from XFM radio DJ Clint Boon. Clint, former member of Madchester band The Inspiral Carpets, invited the budding musicians to join him at his station's studios in Salford Quays.
One of their music teachers, original Happy Mondays guitarist Mark Day, had contacted his friend, who was willing to answer questions which could help them with their GCSE coursework. Clint also gave the pupils a grand tour of the XFM studios.
The pupils were awestruck by the technology of the studio, and the friendly reception they were given.
Mark said, "Both myself and Clint are very keen to promote the continuation of live music in Manchester, following in our footsteps, together with other Manchester legends such as New Order, Stone Roses and The Smiths."
